Its wonderful learning about new stuff esspecially since I didnt even know CF excisted intil my nephew was born a couple of years ago. He is the joy how my life !!!! I wonder every night if he will make thru the next day. Will people make fun of him when he goes to school in his later years? He is three years old and started pre-school a couple of weeks ago. He was so excited! He has made new friends and learns new songs every day and comes home so happy and cheerful! Will all that changes when he is older and he starts to understand what is cystic fibrosis? I guess he will start to wonder why he has so much mediciane and the vest to do every day and night! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

It's never been bad for me at school. If people notice the fact that I cough a lot they either don't say anything or if they do they've just asked why I cough so much and I tell them that the reason I cough so much is because of CF (I usually have to tell them a little about the disease since most people don't know about it). I've never been teased about it, luckily. As far as growing up with it I suppose it hasn't really been too different than a 'normal' person's life, except that you have to deal with all the treatments and remembering to take your meds. Also be sure that your nephew stays active in sports and things, or doing some type of exercise, it helps keep your lungs clear and when I'm not being active I can feel the difference.
