Well, Sean had clinic yesterday and the results aren't good. For the last 8ish months his PFT's have been dropping. In August, he was down to about 30% so they threatened hospitalization, started him on oral antibiotics, and started him on HS. Well, yesterday his PFT's were down to 25%, he didn't grow/gain weight, and he sounded like crap. So, tomorrow into the hospital we go for IV meds. Hopefully, it's just a PICC and out in a few days.

Sean is upset and pissed off. His final football game is this weekend and he'll miss it. Not to mention the Dr. said he couldn't play hockey (or any sports) as long as he has the PICC so he's looking at just sitting on his butt for the next few weeks.

Send us some good mojo.

I'll update when I can.

UGGGGG.......not much can be said to make him feel better. In a childs life everything missed is devistating. Just be reassured that its something that has to be done & he will benefit in the long run. Better to miss the last game then to miss the upcoming holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years etc. HUGS to you!

Bad timing for IVs. He'll feel so much better when its over though. Hope its a quick one so he can get on with his hockey season.

Oh I am sorry... Maybe once he is out of the hospital you can keep to the score keeper or the coach and he can help keep score or do other activities that will make him feel a part of. To me, that is so essential for my emotional well being, find the good things I can still do and DO THEM and not focus on the bad.

SOrry... I agree CF and PICCS suck sometimes
