Grayson has DDF508 but I have seen on here some with 508 homozygous. I tried to research exactly that means but I need a FOR DUMMIES website I guess. I am trying to learn everything I can about CF but this one stumped me.

Homozygous means two copies of the same gene. So double the one gene (Delta f508) ddf508 can mean -- abbreviation for double delta f508. Kind of a mouthful to say homozygous all the time, so I usually just say double delta f508 when someone asks me in person.

in Graysons case its two forms of the DF508 gene so some say Double DF508...some say DDF508 & some say Homozygous DF508.
