Hi - I was just wondering if it's the normal thing to do at the CF Clinic you go to to put the CF patient in the hospital every 3 - 4 months for a tune-up? At what age does your clinic start this?

As far as I knew, tune-ups come along whenever treatment at home is not adequate ie. CPT and tobi, to shake an infection and lung health is deteriorating. I've never heard of being admitted to the hospital every 3-4 months for a tune-up, is it considered preventative maintenance?
I just met a 45 year old CFer who just had her first tune up last year and was admitted to the hospital for the first time.
