We just found out our daughter had CF 3 months ago. We have been going to St. Louis Children's hospital but haven't been very impressed. We are 2 hours away from St.Louis & 2 hours away from Indianapolis plus we have family in Indi. Has anyone been to either of these hospitals? Any suggestions?

Congratulations on your new baby girl! Finding the right team of care providers is imperative to your daughters well-being. Good for you for trusting your instincts and considering other opinions. My son is seen at UNC Chapel Hill,, one of the best in the country. We sadly had to say goodbye to his CF doc about a year ago when she decided to accept an opportunity with Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. We have since started seeing another doctor at UNC whom we also adore and feel 100% confident with. While Dr. Davis was sad about leaving UNC, she was equally impressed and excited with Riley. If she was willing to make the move from North Carolina to Indianapolis, I know they have to have a top-notch program as well. Look up Stephanie Davis and see what you think.

Where we live in North Carolina is 1 1/2 hours from Chapel Hill. (about 30 minutes closer than you are to either hospital you are deciding between). It's not easy when Andrew gets sick and we are back and forth..especially when he is inpatient and my husband and daughter drive every day to visit us. However, we pass the hospital 40 minutes from us because we KNOW Andrew is recieving the best care available to him. I'm sure as the months go on you will begin to find that your daughter's team will become a part of your extended family. When you find this, you'll know you have found the right doctor and hospital.

Best of luck to you and again, congratulations!

When you say that you are not impressed with St Louis Childrens, what was it that you didn't like or what didn't impress you?
