How many of you were breastfed?

My mother and I had a theory before quite a few scientific research was done on breast milk and children who breastfed. We both believed that people who were breastfed were generally more healthy than those who were formula babies. Research has been done on breast milk that shows there are tons of helpful nutrients in it, that just isn't in formula.

I haven't met many CF patients who were breast fed infants, but the ones that were (we used to talk about everything back then) breastfed, every one of them were always overall more healthy than the ones that were formula babies. I was breastfed for 3 and 1/2 years due to my mother nursing my other siblings, and me having all my non diagnosed CF problems. Breast milk really helped me in many ways (hence the long time continuing to do it), and I ended up a pretty healthy CF patient with basically no allergies.

Of course all of this is anecdotal, and doesn't prove anything besides the research that has been done comparing formula babies vs breast milk babies. So i'm wondering how many of you were breastfed also, and in your opinion (if you know) how you compare health wise to any CF's that you know were formula babies. Of course there are tons of variables that come into this, like how many and what mutations each person has, compliance with care, bug strains, etc etc. But i'm just curious in general what your opinion is, if you have one.

BTW, nearly every "normal" non-cf person I know who was a formula baby, have allergies, and some of them extremely bad allergies. Breast milk babies? NONE. Again, none of this is scientific fact of course, just my observations and experiences drawn from interaction with others. I personally believe breast milk is an amazing substance and all children should feed on it for close to if not the first year of life.

I was breastfed, i don't know for how long exactly, my sister was born a little over 2 years after me, it might have been till her birth or close to it. But i'm not sure.

My health hasn't been the best, the first few years were ok though. But i was in the hospital (or on home iv's) a lot from when i turned 4. My lungfunction rapidly declined and was 35% by the time i was 7 or 8.

Which makes me wonder, how (if any) would your situation be different if you were a formula baby vs being breastfed like you were. Of course that's impossible to know, but still curious.

I was a formula baby. My mom tried to breast feed me for a couple week but I wasn't gaining weight. I think it is worth noting that I was diagnosed at birth due to family history. My health has been very good up until this last year, I have leveled off and really not felt well for a year.
