My 67 year old FIL has a nasty sinus infection this week -- looks like a freaking Klingon with a huge ridge on his forehead and is just miserable. I'll have to suggest he stand on his head <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I highly doubt that a person with a headache could stand on his head LOL

You can also tell your FIL to stand on his head. I highly doubt he will consider you his DIL. LOL
If you read the article it talks about preventing problems with the sinuses for those who take articles seriously.

If this article does not apply to you sorry

I take mega doses (up to 10K mg per day) of Vit. C and bulk up on other vitamins. I drink lots of water.

Once I get a head cold I work hard to keep it out my lungs. My biggest trick that works is to be a dedicated nose blower - no sniffling or snorting. Since I learned this I have had many head colds that never went to my lungs...something that as a kid/teen I could never claim.

P.S. I haven't stood on my head in years because it triggers my hemoptysis. ugh!

I was being sarcastic about my FIL 'cuz he's always had nasty sinus problems and he doesn't practice preventative care and then he gets soooo miserable. I on the other hand use saline rinses daily, try to keep hydrated, and usually end up taking advil cold and sinus if things get bad.

Thanks energygal, it's nice to find some other suggested solutions that might at least help me.
