how to tell if taking enough enzymes

I am not taking a lot of enzymes, just 2 mt8's per meal- my weight is a little above normal and my appetite is great, but I get a lot of bloating, particularly late in the day. I am wondering if taking a little more enzyme would help, especially since I am on so little.

I know I'm taking too much when I get constipated, to be blunt about itAnd when I eat real greasy foods, then I take a little extra to help digest the grease

Everyone's enzyme dosage is different. My 3 year old (34 pounds) takes 4 MT10's with each meal - he is at the upper limit of his dosage and we still don't have his malabsorption under control. If you are having bloating AND your doctor wants you to increase your dosage, sounds like it's time to add another pill.

HiA person's enzyme dosage is determined by weight. When I was much younger, there used to be no guidelines to enzyme dosages; it was more how much the patient needed. But then due to colonic strictures caused by enzymes (I think thats what they were called), they started a sort of guideline for dosages. My enzyme dose went down since it was too high. It was also when I started having weight problems. Oh well.

Haha... I wish it was too much weight ... I've had trouble keeping on weight ever since that change. I'm sure the enzyme dosing was not the only factor, but it certainly appeared to coincide on the weight chart. I can't honestly say if I remember my appetite changing, since it was about 10 years ago. Are you the original poster?
