How to tell when your neb compressor needs replaced

Ok, this is a dumb question, so sorry.

It was mentioned to us that the compressor for our son's neb will wear out and to let the clinic know when we need a new one.

How do we know? I doesn't have any sign that lights up and says get a new one <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

We are using for pulmozyme and then Tobi but we know it is a couple of years old as it was bought while he was still in foster care.

Any ideas on how to know or tell would be great.

Treatment times will increase, sometimes they get REALLY loud...

We never knew our original pari proneb ultra was faulty, until we used a relatives devilbiss pulmoaid. Treatment times took a LOT longer -- duoneb took 20-25 minutes, tobi took 45-50 and pulmozyme about 20 as well.

Duoneb now takes 15, tobi about 20-25 and pulmozyme 10-12.

We have a pari-proneb ultra II we use for travelling and for vesting in front of the tv and a devilbiss in our room, for early morning beatments (cpt). Though I've heard there've been issues with the new pari proneb machines, so I've been keeping a pretty close eye on treatment times..

Think too that you're supposed to replace compressors every 3 years...?
