i'm going to be 19 in a few months and i've had cf since i was 11 days old.

but over the last 8 years its been getting worse but i managed tohandle it. i never let it get to me not once but over the last two years, its taken hold over me and i cant do anything anymore.

i can barely focus in class cos of the pain and im taking time off college and im missing out on a lot of things like going out with friends. they know everything about me but its hard for them to understand cos they dont feel what i go through. they very supportive but at times even they give up.

i really dont know what to do cos i can feel my condition worsening and this makes me feel even worse.i have a boyfriend and yh he is really supportive and tries to understand but it just isnt the same anymore.

it'd be better having someone like yourself to talk to.

Hey, I'm Caitlin and I'l be 19 in june. I know exactly how you feel! I'm actually not even in college yet because I missed so much of high school I had to drop out and now I'm about to take my GED. My pft's were always in the 90's and I never even did my treatments until about 8th grade when I got worse and had to go to the hospital for the first time, it's been going down hill ever since then. My baseline is 70 now but at my last appointment I had gone down to 45%. I've lost my motivation... I have a boyfriend too who is really supportive, but even when I'm with him I still feel alone. I would love to have someone to talk to that understands. If you want to talk sometime you can e-mail me at Firechiefcc@aol.com (I know it's a weird screen name lol) It would be nice to hear from you!

I know what you guys mean. I don't do my treatments as often as i should. probably like 2-3 times a week but my PFT's stay in the low 80's normally and sometimes they decline severely... it's hardly. Luckily I have a sister with cystic fibrosis so I have someone to relate to. But it doesn't help when she NEVER does her treatments and gets like 98% on all her PFT's lol. I'm 17 by the way. You can always email me, juliann.marie826@yahoo.com or AIM me: Juliann0826
