I am a 23 year old female with CF. I am in moderate condition living with CF has been easy for me but I am coming up to new things I never put much thought into before. So I need some advice from some mothers with Cystic. I am two weeks late on my period and I have taken 5 EPT test. 2 were negative 1 positive followed by 2 negative so I am still unsure if I am pregnant or not and I was wondering if any of you had problems with false negatives or false positives and if any have asked or talked to doctors about misreads due to medications or any hormones that may be effected by having cf. please get back to me with your stories.
Thank you

hi, Manda.
I am not aware of any meds or hormones that affect a pregnancy test result. If you still have no period in another week you can repeat the test or go to your local family planning or Planned Parenthood clinic - tests are often provided at no charge.
Check with your doctor to see if any of the medications you are taking might be a problem in pregnancy.

Manda,

You will get a LOT more advice if you cross post this in the pregnancy section. 99.9% of the women there are CFers who are pregnant, have been pregnant or are trying to get pregnant.

Congratulations!

Yes please post on the CF pregnancy forum. There aren't any hormones to do w/ CF that would give a false positive. Getting a false positive on a preg test isn't really possible except with some extremely rare hormonal disorders I believe.

How far apart did you take the tests? Any updates? You were/are probably pregnant but it probably isn't developing normally. HCG levels should double every 48 hours or so. SO if you're getting - tests after the positive I would suspect that it won't stick.. Sorry <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
