That is so awesome!
I have had one vest that was long and completely hated it. It made my back hurt and I didn't like it covering my stomach at all. I now have the "shorter" one so the bottom of the jacket ends right at the bottom of my rib cage. This way all the shaking is isolated and only on my chest. That's my experience with the HillRom vest...deffinitly I prefer the short one.

I just went to HillRom's website to see which one I had and it is the long one. I am very tall and slim for a women, 5'10" so my my lung (only got one) and rib cage is very long too. The long vest fits perfectly and works great for me. I'm sure if you have a problem with one type they will switch it for the other. There customer service is very good. Good luck!

I use the long vest (black w/ 3 snaps in front). The bottom of it is even with my waist. I have the adult medium. I am small 5'3" and 115lbs.
They told me the difference is the long vest inflats all around the chest to get the front, back, and both sides. the short vest (i believe its blue, i'm not sure) just inflats in the front, stays flat in the back. Its mostly for just the chest. My doctors want all of my lobes covered.

I was told the same as blindhearted that the long gets ALL necessary lobes, even though I'm 5'2'' and 100 lbs. They wouldn't even give me the shorter one cause they said its usually for kids. So, needless to say, I have the long. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

This is true, the short one (that I have) only inflates in the front chest area. I often wonder if that's just not a good thing. The only good thing I do know about it is that I can sit back in my chair while doing the treatment and rest my back muscles. When I had the long vest (a long time ago with the old model machine) that inflated everywhere, it was very painful after a while on my back since I couldn't lean back in the chair. Those were my personal back issues, but overall I would imagine having the longer one that inflates everywhere would be more productive.

my husband used the long one but at 6'3" and with a long torso from Marfan even the long one wasn't long enough to reach his lowest lobes where the worst problems were.
Still and all I would guess the long vest has the best chance of reaching everything for most people

We managed to get both the chest (1/2 vest - the blue one) and the full vest (the black one with the three snaps on the front)
My daughter likes to switch back and forth according to how she is feeling -- she feels there are pros and cons to each vest
How did we get both vest you might ask... well we specifically ordered it with the full vest but they shipped it with the chest vest, so I called the rep and he dropped off the full vest and never asked for the chest vest back.
My friend Marci did the exact same thing -- not on purpose -- but she too ordered it with the full vest but it was shipped with the chest vest... she also got to keep the full vest the rep dropped off.
