i want to HELP!!!

hi everyone hope all is well your way. i have a question however i need your help with this one. my sister whom has cf is 23 and i was wondering do you think its possible to do like a county wide fund raiser and like deposit all the money raised into a savings acount for her and her family to help out with expenses. or would it be a better idea to do this differently? i need any ideas possible. i really want to do all i can to help her as well as others with cf. thanks and god bless all of you.

That idea would be fine, however the money people have donated would not be tax deductible if that's an issue with anyone that donated.
You would have to set up a non-profit type corporation on her behalf for the monies to be tax deductible and I don't have the first clue on how to start up that--probably going to your local IRS office to inquire would be your first step.
There may be local charities available that would assist her w/ meds, insurance, etc. Have you checked into that at all? The social worker at the CF Clinic should have some leads for you.

You also need to be careful how it is set up. If she gets assistance from the state, it can be considered an assett which might make her in eligible for help.
