Ibuprofen

I know this question has been discussed many times......but, gotta ask again. I am really interested in trying high doses of Ibuprofen for inflamation. I know you have to be very careful and I know I have to work closely with my doc. I just notice such a HUGE difference in my exercise tolerance with Prednisone and Advair changed my life. I just can't help but think that I could do a better job of controlling inflamation. I have tried the fizzie NAC and I am diligent with ALL of my meds and treatments. I just think I could do better. If any of you have tried it, what has been your experience?

I can't do Ibuprofen. I tried to use it to treat back pain, torn shoulder muscle/tendons, muscles spams and joint pain I ended up with a lung bleed.

Austin takes 800 mg of ibprofen twice daily. He had a blood draw to determine how much he should take. He started last year with 600 mg twice daily then had another blood draw during his last clinic and it was determined he could handle the higher dose. So far I haven't noticed anything with him but he is only 7.

I take 1200 mg's twice a day. It has worked wonders for me! I notice a huge difference wehn I am on and when I go off of it (like while on Tobra). I have been on it for what feels like forever and at least since my last surgery (which was 11 years ago), so it had helped my sinuses. I do notice a difference with my lungs as well though, just in general as to how i feel...tightness, heaviness.

I dont really remember how we figured out the dose, but I ALWAYS eat food with it. I have worked my way up to this dose, my sinuses flared up and I upped the dose. I will not go higher any more which is why I am looking at surgery. Be aware, that it is addicting though. I get pain in my sinuses when I go off of it. I know that this is probably a minor issue, but it does happen. My doctor thinks that it is withdrawl, so I have to ease my way off of it to help with the pain.
