Incontinence

Okay, so I have had lots of problems with incontinence. Mostly when I laugh or do treatments and cough. So I have been doing those Kegel exercises, but still I feel like I either have to sit on my foot all the time, or run to the bathroom at a moments notice. Any advice? Or is this just the way that it is until I have this little guy?

i was the same way. i had to wear pads all the time, and it felt like i was wearing a diaper. it got worse as i got bigger. i still have it slightly, i can't jump on a trampoline for anything <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> i think its pretty normal, so i wouldn't worry. good luck!!

i haven't been able to jump on a trampoline for years. long before i was pregnant. but it did seem like everytime i coughed while i was pregnant i had to cross my legs or i felt like i was going to pee myself, this included sneezing as well. i haven't had a problem since i had aj though. except the trampoline lol.

Oh yes, when I was pregnant I was leaking all the time. I just wore a pad for the latter part of my pregnancy. I had problems with stress incontinence a little bit prior to being pregnant, but not bad or anything. Now that I've given birth, the stress incontinence is much worse. It's totally normal for it to happen like that though. But I remember how crazy it was during pregnancy...I was peeing all the time!

I'm not sure what will be the outcome, but I just had incontinence surgery (urethral sling insertion) yesterday. My doc attached a sling with surgical glue inserted into two incisions in my groin to lift my urethra back into place. Fingers crossed, the mesh sling should form tissue around it (hopefully without coughing it out of place) and I should be incontinence free. If it doesn't work (like I cough the sling out of place), it will not make the incontinence worse, so I had to try. I will keep you posted. A lot of people at this site seemed to discourage me getting the surgery, but no one here had actually tried it, so I went for it! My insurance covered it 100%, so I had nothing to lose. If you want more details on the surgery, let me know.
