Just wondering is it normal that when my son's cold gets really junky that he chokes on his food.....it is like there is to much mucous or something? and I don't know if children that don't have CF do this when they have a really bad cold but this is something else that I have noticed that has been going on lately....it is always a sign that I need to be calling the doctor because he is getting junky.

Just wondering is it normal that when my son's cold gets really junky that he chokes on his food.....it is like there is to much mucous or something? and I don't know if children that don't have CF do this when they have a really bad cold but this is something else that I have noticed that has been going on lately....it is always a sign that I need to be calling the doctor because he is getting junky.

Every time Ethan gets sick he has a really bad gag reflex. He has to be very careful and take small bites or he may throw up. Lots of fun. I do believe it is due to the increased mucus.
