My daughter Hayley is sick and we went to clinic today. She is having an awful cough, some retratctions in her neck, rujnning nose, sound crappy, you get the point. They did the nasal test for RSV and Infulenza. RSV was negative, but Influenza was positive. We are taking oral AUgmentin and watching her for 24 hours, but if she does not improve they will most likely admit her. So I was just wondering if it is common for Influenza to land CFers in the hospital with complications?

And yes, she did get the flu shot, but I guess it wasn't for the right strand! UGH!

Thanks in advance for your replies!!

Becky, Mom to Nathan, 6, carrier and Hayley, almost 3 w/CF

My son was hospitalized 2 years ago with Influenza A. They put him on the course of antibiotics first at home, which was unsuccessful. Then they ended up admitting him. We were only in for 5 days, but had to be isolated to his room, which was no bigger than a closet. That was the hardest part of all, was trying to entertain a 3 year old entertained. Anyway, hope the antibiotics work!
