Hi. I am confused as to when to introduce peanuts to my son. His dietitian said to wait to 3 or 4 but I just came across an article saying it may be better to introduce them earlier to prevent allergies. The article is based of study done on Jewish kids in the U.K. and in Israel. The kids in England wait longer before it introduced where in Israel kids are start at 9 months. The Israeli kids have 0.17 percent prevalence of allergies compared to the 1.85 percent in the U.K.
The article did state more research needs to be done to verify. But, I would love to give River peanut butter now as it is such a tasty fatty food.
What have you done and what are your thoughts.
thanks,
Amanda
