Hi! I am a 35 year old lady with CF diagnosed at age 6 months because my sister had it so they tested me too.
I have been on the transplant list in Gainesville since sept 11, 2002 and am getting pretty desperate for a transplant. my sister got listed in feb 2007 at Tampa and was transplanted 12 days later. She is doing fantastic!
In addition to CF I also have CFRD, CFR arthritis, fibromyalgia, and have had my gallbladder out, 3 sinus surgeries, 4 collapsed lungs, hemoptysis on numerous occasions, a hole in my heart and a stroke (recovered), profound hearing impairment and many other "things".
On the bright side my husband (ex but not by choice) have been together for 15 years, known eachother for 20, and we have 3 fantastic children, Damon is almost 14, Zoe is 10 and Nikita is 8.
Some of you might have seen us in Newsweek a couple of years ago, right after hurricane Katrina. It was an article about people with CF growing to adults even though we grew up not expecting to. There were 3 people with CF introduced in the article but my family and I were the ones who got the photographs to go with the article. My claim to fame...LOL!
I just found this forum and it seems pretty cool so I thought I'd join in.
I'd love to chat.
I have to go eat dinner now though, ttyl
