I realize I'm not a teenager or a young person, but thought maybe one of you could help me out.
We got our daughter an iPod for Christmas & when she went to download songs to it from iTunes, it also downloaded all of the songs from our computer music library to her iPod and she wants to delete a few of them.
My question is....does anyone know how to delete a song from an iPod?
Thanks & have a great 2007!

Hi Lynda, I just got an iPod for christmas too! Too delete a song you don't actually delete it through the iPod, but reather the iTunes library. Get into iTunes music and delete by right clicking on the song and then selecting delete. When you next connect the iPod to the computer, they will synchronize and any new songs that have been added will also be added to the iPod, as well as any songs that have been deleted will also be deleted from the iPod.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I would have never thought of that! I was trying to figure out how to delete songs on the iPod itself.

I will have to ask Kurt to refresh my memory on this but there is also a feature you can select - or DEselect that will either allow or NOT allow all new songs to be automatically loaded to your daughters Ipod.

Kurt got me an Ipod Nano and he selected that option for me - the option to NOT automatically load all new music to my Ipod. I just can't remember how he got that option. If you have it set up to automatically load new songs to your daughters Ipod everytime someone plugs in their Ipod all of the songs on your daughters Itunes will most likely be loaded to whatever Ipod is attached - whether it is hers or a friends. The problem in that arises when - if your daughters friend plugs her Ipod into your daughters computer all of the songs on your daughters itunes will be loaded to her friends Ipod - which will in turn wipe out her friends playlists and she will have to load all of her music to her Ipod again.

I hope that made sense. You might be able to check Itunes help or service and support to check about how to select that option for your daughters Ipod. That way she can load all of her CDs to her Itunes without them automatically being loaded to her Ipod.

Have a Wonderful New Year!
