Iron supplement staining teeth

My 8 month old has been on Fer-Iron supplement for about 1.5 months now. It is the liquid form with the dropper. He only has 3 teeth and the iron has already stained them black! We have started brushing them everyday, but so far it doesn't seem to be helping. <br>Has anyone else experienced this and is there any way to either prevent the staining or remove the black?<br>

DS had brownish stains on his teeth from the beginning and I assumed it was from his ADEKs vitamins. I tried brushing as well. And apparently baby toothpaste is worthless because once we got him to the dentist, when he was old enough, they were able to clean his teeth and remove the staining. I was just relieved it was staining 'cuz I was worried it was something worse like decay.

That makes me feel better that at least the dentist should be able to remove the staining. I'd still like to find something that would prevent it in the first place or remove from home so I won't have to only rely on the dentist.

My son has been on ferris sufate 220 3 times a day(11 ml) since he was 2 1/2 and his hemo dropped to 6 and his ferritin was 1.8. We had the same problem eventhough father-in-law and sister-in-law are dentists. They told me to mix with either water or OJ (he likes water) and then use (as soon as your baby is old enough - we did it at 2 1/2) an electric toothbrush. When he was younger we used baking soda until we could use toothpaste. Now we use Tom's childrens (fructose intollerence) and every once in a while use adults whitening. The dentist will be able to get off and it does not cause decay. If on Singulair or prevacid though, make sure to get the groves of the flat teeth clean, they will cause decay.

My daughter's teeth were stained also. Assuming it was from the adek vitamin because we take great care of her teeth. She's been going to the dentist since she was a year old and he actually just whitens them for her.
