Is it normal?

Ellie seems to rattle quite a bit. It's usually after a treatment and I know it's probably the mucus breaking up. Sometimes she does it before her treatments it sounds like she needs to clear her throat. Is this normal?

Also does any of your kiddos take something like robitussin (guaifenisin) or mucinex. Our doctors have Ellie on robitussun to help thin the mucus.

Also she's on bactrim so I'm sure that has something to do with it too.

I'd be grateful to know how your kiddos sound.

Thanks

Briceton rattles a bit as well, but I have just always chopped it up to drainage. He does clear his throat a lot, especially when playing really hard with his sister. He has an asthma component as well, so that also brings on a lot of coughing too.

Personally, I would imagine it being a good thing, especially after treatments, to hear a bit of a rattle. Hopefully it means the meds are breaking up some of that mucus. But if it sounds more like congestion, especially noisy during breathing, I'd call the clinic.
