Is it okay to eat bread without taking enzymes?

I never take enzymes when I eat plain bread or bagels, but I recently read that I should. What about the rest of you? Thanks.

Bread does have some fat in it and therefore should be eaten with enzymes (maybe just 1 or 2 depending on your dependance). The only things that can truly be taken without enzymes are a few fruits, like apples, grapes, oranges (not bananas, they too have fat). Even vitamins - especially vitamins should be taken with enzymes. Ine their pill/tablet form they are difficult for the body to digest and most of a vitamin tablet makes its way into your stools - even if you are a perfectly healthy person without digestive problems.I take my enzymes with everything except those fruit mentioned and I have found a vitamin supplement that I do not require enzymes with because of its easily digestible formula. So are you saying if you eat a banana you should take an enzyme?? Also my 2 1/2 yr old is on Vitamax and I usually put it in milk (which she does get an enzyme for) or juice, but with juice should she take 1 enzyme?? This is news to me. Which it helps to know cause I still struggle with how many to give her at times. For instance w/a poptart is it 1 or 2 pills, w/one muffin is it 1 or 2 and w/Milk 1 cup (or more) 1 or 2. I know give her 2 w/breakfast, 2 w/lunch, 1 w/snack and 3 w/fast foods w/more fat. If this is true w/banana's and vitamins then this could be part of our problem w/BM's. Very interestingSorry to go on but got me started on something that puzzles me at times Thanks

I feel like we used to have a chart hanging up in one of our cabinets about how many enzymes to take with certain foods. Maybe ask your doctor or the clinic social worker. You could also try contacting the manucfacturer of your son's enzymes. Some foods I've always had trouble digesting and therefore take extra enzymes- hot dogs, Chinese food, pizza, peanut butter, ice cream/milkshakes and chicken nuggets. Anything especially greasy or fatty gets to me. I've been told to take enzymes with bananas, but I did not know about the vitamin thing-- though I usually take my vitamin at breakfast and are getting enzymes anyway. I guess you learn something new everyday, even after 15 years
