Israel, I swear its magic!

hi, I just wanted to make a posting saying that I recently went to the Dead Sea in Israel for a 3 week "CF camp". While sick in the hospital last summer I did some Internet research on alternate CF treatments. I found the web site www.cfcenter.il.co, and immediately called about information. so, after much thought and some saving I was off to Israel in February. I want to encourage all of you to look into this web site and do some research on your own. this place I truly amazing! I have never felt so good. it is open to all ages and is a blast. its not really a camp and you are not really in contact with other cfers so don't worry about cross infection. I could go on for hours about it but I won't here. check out the web site and if you have any questions you can email me at rckstr4@aol.com. I always read this web site and have found many helpful postings so I just wanted to pass this on. good luck to you all. Catherine 25

Hey
I have a question. How much did this trip cost you and how many people went with you? I tried to e-mail them to ask but it would not let me send it.

Thanks

Hi, I'd heard of the CF center/camp at the Dead Sea while living overseas. We never had the chance to go but read some very interesting stuff. Someone once posted about it but never said if they were able to go. In a way I can see how it could be helpful in some way. When we took a short vacation down to the Keys my girls seemed to feel so good. I swear there was salt in the air (not just the normal salt you get at any beach) It seemed to deposit on everyones skin. Yes, we were on the water alot but whatever the explanation they seemed to feell really good down there. We lived in Fl for a year, in Tampa, it's not the same salty air. Anyhow, I'd love to hear more.

To anyone trying to find that site. I had trouble linking to the site. I did an MSN search for Dead Sea CF Center and there it is.

sorry if you are having trouble with the site. i went by myself and a guy from indiana went as well, to date we are the only 2 americans that have gone to this center. it is very popular with germans and other european countries. you can email benny pinkas, he runs it his email address is (cfc@zahav.net.il). the trip was a little over 3,000. that was 3 weeks of hotel(room and board), treatments and airfare.good luck catherine

The link is posted incorrectly. It's <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfcenter.co.il
">http://www.cfcenter.co.il
</a>
(the co & il were reversed on the former postings.)

It looks very interesting. I have a 17 year old daughter who might benefit from and be interested in going. What kinds of activities did you do there, what places did you visit? What treatments did you feel helped most? The cost was around $3K U.S., correct? What did that cover?

thanks for the posting with the correct address. i can't believe i kept giving the wrong one. anyway, the $3k covered basically everything except for what i bought to take home and some tours. israel is beautiful. there aremany things to see and i got to ride on a camel. i can't wait to go back next year. since there were only 2 of us there rtrips were not planned for us. if there were more then they would have and that is included in the price. so we get treatment 5 days a week, which consists of massage and yoga. beleive me it works great. the massage is like chest pt but opens you up so much more. also we get 2 doctor apts while we are there with an amazing doctor named Dr. asher tal. the hotel room is also included along with 3 meals a day. like i said everything is included! sorry again for the wrong posting of the address. good luck.

So did you book through this guy Benny? Flights etc? May I ask how old you are? I was mentioning this to my older daughter after going to the site for the hotel that is there with the CF center. I was trying to calculate for the four of us just for hotel when my daughter said, "you and dad? just send me and Rachel!" Then I thought, hey maybe so, she'll be 18, most likely 19 before we'd be able to send her and Rachel'd be 15 or 16. MAYBE... Where did you fly from? Did you mostly stay in the immediate area or were you able to explore (tour), where did you get to visit? I'll have to start saving now. It's so great to hear from someone that's actually been there. Like I mentioned before I'd heard of it when we were living in Germany but never "spoke" to anyone that'd been there.

Thanks for your info!

liza- feel free to email me directly rckstr4@aol.com..i am a really bad typist so bear with me. ok, i am 25 from baltimore. i booked my own airfare which about $900. as far as the trip i booked everything else with benny. he is the one that came up with this program. it works out to be like $150 a night that includes threatment, room, food and group activities..i really don't know how it is able to be so inexpensive. i am sure you know how much it costs for a 3 week stay in the hospital. i really would encourage you to email benny as well, he is the nicest man i have ever met and goes out of his way to help. not only does it make you feel good but you are in a beautiful country and a really posh hotel. good luck and keep me posted. catherine

liza- sorry, didnt answer some of your questions, i flew to newark, nj then straight to tel aviv. once you land in tel aviv benny picks you up and drives you to the dead sea, about an hour and a half. for the most part i stayed in the dead sea area. we have treatment every sun- thurs and they leave fri and sat for day trips. i went jerusalem and bethlehem on a tour and rented a car one day and went to a place called eliat. its really easy to get around and much to everyones disbelief it is very safe. i brought a lot of books and sat on the beach and read most everyday. (not too bad if you ask me) it might be cheaper if you send both your girls because they would share a room i supose. (ask benny) anyway, i hope this has helped.

Hi Catherine,
How long do you have to go for? Can you bring a friend with you? How old are most of the people that go?
