It's Monday afternoon, and I don't remember my son pooping since Saturday afternoon. The CF Team made it clear we have to call if he ever goes more than 24hrs with out a BM. I'm going crazy...I keep waiting, and while I'm waiting I keep picking up the house like I feal for sure "That's it he has another Bowel obstruction"...(He was born with one). Am I just freaking out.....My girlfriends say it's normal sometimes for babies to go more than 24 hrs without a bm...but the CF notes I have say never more than 24 hrs. Thank, Sarah Ohhh he is only 7 months old.

Does he seem to be in pain? Has he stopped eating? Does he seem off? Have a fever? Vomiting?

We'd go thru this with DS from time to time -- we'd notice that his tummy seemed bigger than usual and he'd be fussy, wouldn't take as much formula. And we'd realize he hadn't pooped. A couple of times we tried baby suppositories, prune juice... When we spoke with his CF doctor about it, he told us to try milk of mag -- this was after determining he was constipated, no obstruction.

Hopefully the doctor's office will get back to you soon. I went thru the same worries. Once I knew what we were dealing with -- constipation -- I knew what to look for, but still was stressful until he stooled again.

Sarah,

Oh, yeah for pooh!! It is so stressful when they don't poo and you know they are supposed to. I have found that when my daughter's routine is altered, her pooping schedule gets thrown off and she can skip a day; usually I start giving her prune juice if I feel she's getting constipated. Anyway, when we are traveling, at a strange house , or she is too busy having fun; she'll forget to poop. So, it's definately something to stay on top of, so I understand, completely. My daughter says my answer to everything is to go poo and you'll feel better(SHe's right<img src="">)
