Hi Everyone,

I had a few questions regarding IUIs. I've browsed this sight quite a bit, but was hoping to get some more information.

I was wondering who has tried IUIs, both unmedicated and medicated, and how many tries of each it took before getting pregnant or stopping and trying something else. I've been meeting with an RE lately, and he's been pushing me to do medicated IUIs due to them being more successful, but I'm nervous about the increased chance of multiples. Any advice or information would be really appreciated!

Hi there,

I did unmedicated IUI and I got pregnant on the 2nd attempt. I just did the ovulation kits to find the ovulation day and went in for IUI the following morning.

i have done one medicated IUI but it was unsuccessful! I hope to try it again. my dr told me that with clomid it isn't that much of an increase for multiples so i shouldn't worry! good luck to you in whatever choice you pick! but from my experience of doing it last time i will definitely do it again... and hopefully it will be successful this next time!

I got pg naturally with my first daughter after 14 months of TTC. I got pg right after doing an HSG test. Had I not gotten pg that cycle we were going to try unmedicated IUI.
We did unmedicated IUI to get pg with our second daughter. The first IUI was a success. I charted my basal body temps and used ovulation kits to pin point ovulation.
