I've had my surgery

I've had my sinus surgery yesterday, finally. Ofcourse i wasn't really looking forward to it but was happy it was finally going to happen. Sometimes it's a oneday thing but i was admitted to the hospital the day before and had to stay for 2 nights. So i was admitted on Thursday. And went to the OR at 7 am fridaymorning, early!! Ofcourse i had to wait till 8am in pre-op before they actually took me to the OR itself. First they tried to put an iv in my foot, but that didn't work, so they put it in my elbow again. I really don't like that place for obvious reasons i think but luckily it didn't have to be in long. I was awake again and in recovery at 9.30 and my mom could come down there, she came to the hospital while i had my surgery. I only had to stay in recovery for an hours so they called the ward after about an hour and they came to pick me up 45 minutes later... The rest of the day, well, i felt really poorly. Lot of pressure in my head, on my jaws and eyes. Couldn't really keep my eyes open for more then a few minutes but i wouldn't sleep. Think it was because i was tired from the aneasthetic but from the pressure as well. My stomach was kind of upset too, all day. But that was better after i thrown up.. I had already had a slice of bread at lunch and this was with another slice at dinner. Turned out that it was old blood in my stomach, from dripping down all day from my sinusses. Last night i could sleep relatively well so i'm feeling lots better today and am home again.

The doctor who operated on me came to see me yesterday afternoon and told me everything had gone well. They have removed 2 little pieces of bone. They make the opening to the sinus cavety smaller so they removed so my sinusses can clear better in the future. Then they removed lots of tissue. In the cavity it needs to be like 1 mm. But what he showed me with his fingers was more then 1 cm. He said it was chronically inflamed, he took cultures from it too. So we will see if it's only the Pseudo acting up there. They put 2 special small tampons very high up in my nose and they will come out on Tuesday, so i have to come back then. It is supposed to be one week but because it's my birthday on Thursday they can come out sooner. It's dripping a little but nothing that i can't handle hehe. I only feel like i have a really bad cold now, with my sinusses all clogged. But the doctor said he put them full of special anti bacterial ointment, that was good for the pseudo too he said. So that much be it. And them pocking around in my nose doesn't help either i guess hehe.

Hope it's all going to be worth it.

Nope Melissa, no strings attached <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"> Luckily! Don't really want to know how they are going to get those things out, can imagine it's pretty painful. But we will see on Tuesday. You can't see anything of it, except maybe it's a little swollen, i'm not sure. The 'tampons' are really small they said. I can even breath through my nose a little. Not much so i don't really do it, but i can.

Thanks Terri and Melissa, for your kind messages.
