I just wanted to let everyone know that my husband just had a successful sperm retrieval for our IVF journey. His sperm is healthy and there was plently of it to be frozen until we are ready for IVF. Although, he is in a lot of pain - we are one step closer to starting our family.

Check out my blog for the all the details in our latest journal entry if you would like <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hi Sara, I'm so glad to see you on here!! I am so sorry to hear about Dustin's reaction to the pain, but I hope he is doing much better. Lisa (blondlawyer) and I met today for coffee and talked a bit about you two. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers!!

Leah, I'm making an assumption here, but I believe they wanted to find out if Dustin did have viable sperm before they proceeded with the IVF medications and such. An IVF cycle ususally takes about 2 months from beginning to end, including when you start your period, then start birth control pills, then start the meds, egg retrieval and ICSI fertilization on the same day, and embryo transfer 3-5 days later (depending on the embryo's). Actually about 6 weeks.
