Something Julie said in another thread made me want to share something w/ you and I didn't want to steer that thread away from it's original intent, so I will post here instead.
If I interpret it correctly, Allan probably hesitated a little bit from marriage because he didn't want you to be responsible for his medical bills at any time. Maybe I didn't read into this correctly.
At any rate, assuming that you didn't 'officially' marry, I know that you are not responsible for any of his medical expenses but wanted to let you know that if I understand correctly, his money raised through COTA can be used for those expenses (although I know it wouldn't even touch the total due). Even though he didn't get the transplant, he was working towards that goal by getting that dreaded G-tube so to that end, the monies should be available for medical expenses, lodging, etc. COTA also pays up to $1,000 in funeral expenses out of that money raised too. I assumed you knew all of this but just wanted to let you know just in case.
I just thought I would throw this out there if this is something you or his family wants to pursue.
(or even has the energy to pursue)
Hope
