Josh: Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillisosi (ABPA)

Haven't been writing much, my main computer is in the shop and I
left the power chord to my lap top at school. I am now slumming by
using my really old computer that Josh usually uses.
The CF nurse called today and test results for ABPA came back. He
has a high IgE so she had them check specifically for allergy to
aspergillis. It came back positive. We are both scheduled to see
his allergist on Friday anyway, so they will fax the report to him.
She said he needed to start taking another medicine, I thought she
said Septra, but from what I'm been reading on the web I doubt that
is what she said. ABPA is common in asthma and in CF. Anyone have
any experience with this?

She is going ahead with the nasal differential potential test (I
may have those words in the wrong order) and when we check his
Vitamin D level in about a week, will be out of the Rx than, we
will do the full mutations test with Quest Labs.
yup, know this one. my husand had a real bad go with it for 3-4 years, but then they got it under control.
There are several different ways of approaching the problem, let uys know what his doc suggests.
