just an update, nothing too exciting

I had my clinic visit today. I have been kinda congested lately and thought my PFTs might have gone down, but they were at 79% which is actually up a bit, so that was nice to hear. I mentioned I wanted to try the hypertonic saline, and so they gave me a nebulizer, but have to locate a pharmacy to mix it up. I am really excited about it. If it will reduce my coughing I may actually start running. I haven't done it because I think it is so embarrassing to be hacking up a lung on the street and having people stop and ask if I am OK and all that. I told my doc I want to be the only (well hopefully you guys will be there too) - I want to be the first CFer at 85 still cooking and with original lungs. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> only about 50 years to go! Oh, and the dietician told me I was a little overweight for my height, so that running should help that also - and I do have pseudenomas. I never knew, after all these years - but he said I culture them sometimes and not other times, so they must not have grown too out of control (or is that normal) they are type 2 or something like that - any pseudemona info would be nice. So all is well, and I will be happy to report on this saline thing, I know some others are getting started with it too. And, we go in for our insemination on Feb 10th, so I'm praying that works and I will have that good news to report too!

If you culture pseudo sometimes and not others, I would guess that no, it hasn't gotten too out of hand for you yet. Those of us that have chronic pseudo growth culture it every time we go in.

I wish ya luck with the hypertonic, my doc is callin a Pharmacy in Orlanda that does it cheap to set me up...Sadly the insurance company won't pay for it, so it's essentially another 40 dollar supplement to me. Have you tried using the oregano oil wander? Many people have had great results with it.

I've had people come up to me and ask if I've just quit smoking. On more then one occasion when I don't feel like going into an explanation, I'll agree with them. Meh, they're strangers - I don't think I need to go into detail about my CF cough with them.

Hey SeanDavis, I have not tried the oregano oil yet because I am trying to have a baby and I read somewhere that there was a link between oregano oil and miscarriage. I don't know to what extent you'd have to take it for that to happen, but better safe than sorry - after this baby thing is over I am going to try it. I love "natural" remedies!
