Hello!
We got pregnant with our first daughter without any problems naturally. Our second hasn't gone as smoothly. Anyway, we had our first IUI treatment yesterday. Just wondering how many IUI's everyone had to do before you had success?

Kelly, I'm like you in that I got pregnant with no help for my first. I don't plan to have any add'l at this point because we found out my son has two mutations after doing gene sequencing on him after birth. Thankfully he is very healthy. Additionally, I am in the Vertex 770 open label study and pregnancy would disqualify me. Finally, I have had a difficult time healthwise since contracting MRSA a few years ago (after mastitis in the breast on day 10 of son's life). So...now we get to the reason I posted on your thread. I see you are possibly an RN. Do you culture MRSA? How do you keep it in check? I am currently trying Colistin every other month with Minocycline from day 14-28. Hopefully this helps. Cayston seemed to wipe out my PA giving MRSA too much ammo and then I end up requiring IVs. My FEV1 is in the high 60s/low 70s.

With my first I got pregnant on our own, on the 2nd month of ttc. With the 2nd pregnancy it took a year.
For some reason, I anticipated problems getting pregnant the 2nd time around. I think the combination of caring for a toddler, some health difficulties (not related to Cf per se) and the emotional worry/stress of not getting pregnant all contributed to it taking so long. But, especially that last one.

Hi Kelly,

I got pregnant with IUI #2, which was unmedicated. I think the key to getting pregnant is getting past the cervical mucus, so hopefully IUI will be successful for you without many tries.

Good luck!

Four. We did two unmedicated with no success and two with clomid - I got pregnant with both clomid IUIs, but I had an early miscarriage with the first one.

I'm in the 2ww of my 3rd IUI. These past three cycles I've been monitoring on my own with OPK's. If this last one didn't work I'm going to move onto a monitored cycle. But I'm keeping hopeful that it did!

Kristen - were you or your doctor worried about multiples with the clomid?

It was lucky #6 that worked for us. I think I did one natural, one with clomid, one with femara, one with femara and a couple injections, and then 2 with injectables. My RE knew I wanted to be monitored closely to avoid a multiples pregnancy, which is why we gradually added more meds each cycle.

Good luck to you!!!
