My family recently relocated from OKC to the Kansas City, KS area. Anyone go to a CF center in KC? Have a great doc you could recommend?

Unfortunatley, I did not like the doctors in KC. KUmed center was not up to par in many ways.

I ended up commuting to St Louis Univ. hospital where EVERYONE was outstanding.

Although, things may have changed by now because that was about 6 years ago...

Oh that's frustrating - I hope things have changed... otherwise I may be tempted to continue with my care center in OKC. I had hemoptysis issues a few years back and I would at least like to have a contact there in case of an emergency. (side note- Did I remember correctly that you had hemoptysis issues in the past too, musclemania?)

Has anyone been there within the past 6 yrs and found anything different?

Yes, in the past I have had some on and off. Nothing that materialized into something severe but more-or-less a sign of infection for me.

I am seen at KU. I have been seen there since diagnosis at 5 mo old and I am now 31 yrs old. I switched from peds to adult at the age of 16ish. I love my care there. I have friends that go there and they aren't as impressed. I guess that it is just a matter of what you want in your care. Obviously you want the best care you can get andI feel like I get that. I have been with the same doctor for almost 15 years. I was with the same peds doc the whole time I was in peds care. I never went to Children's Mercy for care but I have friends who went there all of their life and had to switch to adult peds within the past few years due to patient overload at Children's. I think that no matter where you go you will be comparing it to where you came from and that may be for the benefit or demise of the new CF center.
