keeping up with treatments

Hey guys i was just wondering how consistent everyone is on doing there treatments. i know for me doing a full 28 days of tobi morning and night is almost impossible, theres simply night enough time in a day to sit home and do it. Its also really hard for me to remember all my pills (vitamins, zythromax, enzymes, and whatever antibiotic im on at the time) on top of the vest and nebs. So does anyone have any suggestions on staying consistent?

It is hard. Take the time to do it all. You will be happy You did. I'm still learning how.

It's not easy by any means, especially for someone as inherently disorganized as I am. However, this is one aspect of my live where I force myself to keep a routine and stay organized, or else my health suffers. It is definitely harder now that I am not living at home and I have more responsibilities to keep up with which just makes my system that much more important.

I start by trying to get up around the same time every day. If I get enough sleep every night and keep a regular sleep schedule, that's one step closer to keeping a regular routine. All of my nebs and my vest and my pills are set up the night before so that at 6:30 AM when I'm stumbling around with my eyes half open I don't have to think about anything. I keep the rest of my pills for the day in a weekday pill organizer. Rather than using the Sunday/Monday/Tues etc. (they wouldn't all fit) I marked the container with a Sharpie for each time of day I take pills. I have my 6 AM pills, my lunchtime pills, my enzymes, my dinnertime pills, and my before-bed pills. Before bed while I'm doing the vest I set up the container for the next day. I also sterilize my nebs and everything else that has to be cleaned every night right before bed. All of my equipment lives in a cabinet next to the chair I do my treatments in.

Having a routine keeps me from forgetting anything because it is the same every day. I think I have some OCD tendencies which definitely keeps me from slacking off <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

I'm pretty good about getting all my pills in, since I have a daily pill case that sits on the table, ready for me.

My vest and inhaled meds are a bit of a different story though. I always try to do them around the same time (use TV programing to help with that- if a certain show is on, I know it's time to do a treatment), but I also don't stress out if I miss a treatment or two. I always try to get every single one, but if end up doing 11 or 12 treatments out of the 14 I'm supposed to do a week, I don't stress myself out over it.

I agree that it basically just requires routine. It can be annoying and inconvenient but is definitely worth it in the long run.

Have you tried doing nebs in the car? That helps me on particularly busy days. I keep an extra compressor in my car and have to plan ahead to take meds and all with me on days that I do that.

By the way--people always give me funny looks when I'm driving and nebbing. However, the other day, I saw a woman actually blowing her hair dry while driving. I thought that made my nebs in the car look pretty normal =)

It's fairly easy for me as I don't have to take that much.

AM Nebs right after I wake up before breakfast
Brovana
Tobi
Vest

PM nebs just before I goto bed
Brovana
Pulmozyme
Tobi
Vest

All my pills are in my daily doser and are taken in the morning right after my neb treatments. Enzymes are they easiest as I'm always eating.

This is difficult. My 2 year old is doing many therapies and my 1 year old twin boys are also doing some therapies as well. My daughter is taking...

AM enzymes, vitamin, previcid, albuteral puff, vest, pulmozyme, tobi and flovent puff.

PM albuteral, vest,tobi and flovent.

We have the same routine everyday. I find doing enzymes is the most difficult because she grazes all day.

My twin boys are taking

AM- prvicid, vitamin, enzymes, albuteral chest pt, facial massage( They both suffered from facial nerve palsy from Vitamin A deficientcy

PM- albuteral, chest pt
