I have the same problem.......usually cats and kittens needing homes are everywhere, but usually when I decide I want one, I can't find one for looking!!

It turns out that cats have a breeding season and it's in the summer time over here, around xmas. So i'm assuming over there it is around May-July when most of the kittens are born.

All i can suggest is that you might like to look at getting a pedigree kitten instead of a moggy. Normally cat breeders will have litters most of the year through, plus they don't let them go to a home normally until they are 3 months old, as opposed to 6 weeks old for your average moggy.

So if you can afford a pedigree, maybe a breeder will have some older kittens who are ready for homes?

I ended up getting my cat from a pet store - luckily I did or the poor thing probably would have died (he ended up beingsick when I got him - lol leave it to ME to pick the sick cat).

I also looked at the local Pet adoption place. Also if you have a PetSmart or other big name pet store you may want to call them and see if they do pet adoptions on a certain day of the week. I know here they have alot of them come the holidays, but they usually have pet adoptions at least one day a week during the rest of the year also.

Local Humane Society - which is pretty much the same thing as the local pet shelter. Any of those places most likely won't run adds - at least they don't here -but they are worth checking out.

Good Luck with the kitty search!

Around here, the vet's offices always have kittens for adoption. I also want a cat/kitten but we cant have one right now.
I saw a sign at the post office earlier, someone is giving a siamese cat away..she was beautiful too.

I don't know what city you guys are in, but these guys are in Houston...which is east texas, if I'm correct.

They have lots of very cute kitties of various ages. I'd actually suggest getting an adult cat, so you know thier personality, but I'm a rescue pet getter lol. All my pets are rescue. They have 9 week old kittens too though, if you're dead set on a kitten.

If you tell me where you live,. I can find shelters closer to you
