I have been working with a mission in Liberia, West Africa for a little over a year now. Recently they built a new facility that houses an infirmary, but they need supplies. They can use almost anything.
I'm sending over my left-overs from at-home port flushes and home IVs. Saline syringes, needles, alcohol preps, gloves, masks, dressing changes, sharps containers, etc.
Hospitals here won't take the stuff so it just gets thrown away, but in other countries it is like gold.
If you have supplies you can donate, please email me and I'll give you the state-side shipping address and contact info.
If you want to check out the mission, it is Acres Of Hope Liberia (<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://acresofhope.org">http://acresofhope.org</a>). On their charitable needs page, they have a short list of needed supplies, but contacting them will get you the specifics. Just let Patty or Donna know that you are considering donating medical supplies and want to know what they can use.
