I got to speak with Lindsey for a long time this evening. Her voice sounds wonderful, so strong and clear. She says "I feel great. I take a deep breath and it feels incredible." According to her doctors she is ahead of average. The chest tubes may come out tomorrow, but still dependent on the amount they drain. She's been off O2 since Saturday night, and is 97-98% without it. Today she was able to walk 3 laps in the morning with a walker and then 3 laps this afternoon without the walker while chatting non-stop. On Sunday she had a bronch, and will have another one tomorrow. These are to clear out debris, which is normal. No biopsy yet because she is on such a high dose of antirejection drugs. Once they start to wean those drugs some she will have a biopsy done, about 1.5-2 weeks.
Lindsey said she feels the warmth and positive energy all of the people who care about her are sending. She has felt warm hands touching her while she's sleeping (only to awake and find noone there). It's made a big difference for her.
Cindy has been very busy trying to get things ready for Lindsey when she comes home, plus visit Lindsey and get some rest. Lindsey asks that we please stop calling her Mom as she is being overwhelmed with calls from family, friends, and people from our website. She very much appreciates that you care and can't wait to be back to posting herself.
