liver issues?

i have an ultrasound scheduled for my son on monday. apparently labs came back abnormal for liver function. It's like quadruple the number it's supposed to be. anybody have any experience with this. my son is pancreatic sufficient...just respitory issues at this time.. (or so i thought.) i just didn't ever hear of anyone having liver problems due to cf...only read about it in some books.

Liver issues can be caused by CF as well as some of the meds. I take Actigal to help with my liver issues. It works well, but not everyone is that fortunate.

Hopefully its a simple solution!

i am currently going thru kind of the same thing with my daughter. her liver enzymes came back very high and they are running a series of tests on her on the 24th. i wasnt aware of any liver issues with cf before this either, but according to her cf specialist this can be a common occurance with cf. i was told there are a couple of meds like the one mentioned above that can be taken to help and it rarely gets as serious as needing a liver transplant or anything like that.

My LFT's are almost always elevated and the abx generally only make them worse. They constantly draw more bloodwork to check these. I also usually will have an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok when I go in for a clean out.
