HI! My name is Jennifer, and i am 16. Irecently just spent my first visit in the hospital for about 12 days. It was kind of an eye opener for me, Iwasn't quite sure how to deal with it. I had so much free time, Ididn't know anyone, I got so behind in school, and i lost my spring break. Right now I really would just like to speak with anyone who would like to offer some advise to make the time a little easier for me. Thanks so much!

Hey there whats up? Nmh. My name is Kimberly Lasica and i have CF. Im 15 years old with and ok life but not to good beings that i have to deal with more than 6 pills every meal and beathing treatments 3 to 4 times a day.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"> Sometimes i forget to take them because i run out the door and run off and forget but thats not good at all for my health.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Well im really srry about the hospital incident and all the missing days that you had to miss with all of the catching up that you had to da so you would not fail the year. Your probably in High School HUH! Im in 8th grade cool HuH.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

It really was pretty lonely, except when my sisters and dad came to visit (my mom stayed the whole time). I totally know how you feel. Hey there Jennifer,
I'm really sorry that happened with losing the Febuary vacation i bet that really stinks. I remember one summer i went down to Texas to see my biological father when i got sick it wasnt a pretty sight because i had to spend most of my summer in the Hospital.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0"> That really made me mad but i guess i was a little irresponsible.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> OOOPS! Anyways how are you doing now? Im actually 14 yrs old to but im turning 15 really really soon cool huh. ummm.... i have one question please dont laugh i just wanted to know because i have CF to and the question is if you have Cf do you start you period later then others becuase i have under arm hair ,pubic hair but i didnt start my perios yet and most of my friends laugh at me because i havent started yet.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"><img src="i/expressions/brokenheart.gif" border="0">

Lilly,
Having CF can interfere with getting your menstrual cycle. Puberty is delayed in many with CF. Dont worry about getting your period...it will happen. I was almost 17 when I got mine. Be patient...Take Care!

Lily, yes, having CF can slow down puberty. I'm 17 and I've only had two periods (but those were like a year ago). It used to bother me as well that I hadn't had any but then again we're kind of lucky because we don't have to deal with the cramping and carrying tampons/pads and PMS...lol.

Jennifer, I'm going to email you right now. I'm 17 and I got out of the hospital a week ago; it was my first time as well and I got very far behind in school, plus I had missed quite a few days before going into the hospital so yeah...I'm very far behind as well.

i am 15 too, and im really sorry to hear that u have cf. my sister had it 2
and she died from it when she was 7 it wasnt good. u sound like u r a really strong person

ez i hav cf 2 and me bruf has it 2 he is 7 and ime 14 i will b 15 at the 31 may hope u lot k ime in hospital at da mo so borin. me bruf has only been in hospital twice and ive been in so meany times hope 2 chat 2 ya lot soon
