I'm posting this as I'm somewhat confused and a little worried. Every time I get a shower in the morning I rip up from the drain a handful of hair. I am only 28 years old, and I'm shedding like a Shetland Sheepdog. I'm afraid to go out and get a haircut, as I figure it's like rolling the dice, I don't know if it'll grow back. I have a strict reducing hairline, not unlike Drew Carey. It can't be genetics as my father and his father have full heads of hair. I was thinking it might have something to do with my thyroid, but I'm unsure.

you get your hair from your mothers side... i think it's your mothers father/brothers you should be looking at.

It could be anything from meds to nourishment to just needing a haircut.
WHen I was in the hospital this last time my hair would come out in bunches. Its because it was dead from all the meds. I got it cut (too ALL the dead off) & tho I am still on IV meds I dont have the problem.
