Maggie has a cough/cold

Oh well, my husband thought he was getting a cold over the weekend, scratchy throat , spacey feeling, now a little boogery. Now maggie seems to have it. Bummer. She has a irritated cough, no fever. I hate that worried feeling I get. It's like a pit in your stomache. We have an appoinment in the CF clinic 6 days from now just by chance, her yearly work-up. It seems whenever Maggie's cold starts with a cough, she can't kick it without anti's. She recently got through a bad nose type cold without anti's which was great. Maybe now that she's on the HTS we'll make it through without anti's with this cough type cold although I doubt it. anyway, just venting my worries. What if she culturing something new?

Anyway, I got a call yesterday that Maggie won a gift certificate from a toy store nearby from a drawing a put her in for a while ago. So we'll go over and pick it up and I'll let her get a bunch of toys so she'll have something to do while we lay low and also for the mega long clinic appointment next week.

Crossing fingers that it is just a cold and that Maggie kicks it pretty quickly. How fun to go to the toy store with someone else's money! And 4 is such a wonderful age!

I hope your annual appointment goes well. I dread each and every appointment, even the in-betweeners. You never know if you're going to get good news or bad. Katy has come to take them in stride, even when she knows she is going to the "hurt doctor" and not the "tickle doctor" . I guess it's a mommy's job to do the worrying.

I'm sorry to hear that, Rebecca. Its amazing what CF does to the way a mom sees a cold/cough. It used to be routine, used to be a I-feel-bad-but-it-will-go-away-soon. But now its cause for great worry, every time!!! UGGH!! I will keep my fingers crossed too for just a plain old run of the mill cold that goes away on its own!!!!

Very rarely do I make it through a cough without it going to my chest and requiring antis. The only thing I can do is try to prevent the cold in the first place! I hope she feels better soon
