Magnesium

I have always had aches in my shoulders and neck. It is difficult for me to turn my head to see behind me when backing up. It is difficult for me to lift my arms straight into the air. It is worse with stress. When I do a steroid burst, which I have only done a couple of times, I feel great for the first few days; but, as the dose is lowered things go back to the way they were. Some days are better than others and on really uncomforatable days I will sometimes take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen. It is not that bad but just kind of annoying and I have just kind of learned to live with it over the years, like we do with a lot of things. Well, I had read in a recent post that a lot of people take Magnesium. I have always wanted to try that but have had so many other health routine changes that that wasn't a priority. Well I bought some yesterday and I CAN MOVE MY NECK TODAY and lift my arms like a normal person. Could this be the Magnesium???? I have done nothing else different. I feel like I took 4 or 4 Ibuprofen, which I would never do. I hope things stay like this, this is wonderful. Any thoughts on this? Can't be a placebo effect because I was not even taking Magnesium with my muscles in mind. I was taking it to benefit my calcium intake.

I have heard a lot of good things about magnesium, so I suppose it is possible.

But since you mentioned the steroid helping your neck feel better, I'm thinking you must have some inflammation in there too..... if it turns out that the magnesium isn't really the cure for you, then I would recommend seeing a chiropractor or an orthopedic doctor and tell them what you said happens when you take steroids.

If I stop taking magnesium I do get cramps in my feet/legs and it does help with muscles, also its a bit unusual that it helps so fast and so much.

But what do you mean with the calcium intake?
As far as I know, one should not take magnesium and calcium together at the same time, similar to calcium and antibiotics.
