May Danielle rest in peace...

The CF community lost one of it's most inspiring, courageous patients last Saturday. Danielle Soares passed away at the tender age of 21 while at Children's Hospital Boston. She had a lung transplant a little over a year ago, then suddenly her lungs filled with fluid there was nothing more the doctors could do. She had lost her hard-fought battle. Anyone who is a patient at Children's will know what a huge loss this is, as Danielle was truly one of a kind! She will be tremendously missed....

There is a place on the funeral home web-site for tributes to Danielle. www.waring-sullivan.com

Danielle was in a study with my son years ago and I will always remember her spirit and beautiful smile. My prayers go to her family, especially her mom Barbara.

This is such sad news... and hurts.

Danielle's mom and I have been emailing eachother for over a year, since Danielle needed lungs and they were looking it living lobar lung transplant. And I will not forge the email I got from Barbara saying that Danielle got lungs, and living lobar was not needed. Elated we were.

We have stayed in touch and I got a wonderful update in a Christmas card.

If anyone wants to send them a card here is their address
Barbara is the mom

Hi this is the first time I've responded to these forums. I started reading them a few days ago - I guess it was kinda an eye opener for me. I have a 9 year old boy with CF and a healthy 12 year old girl. Tanner has been pretty healthy except for nose polyps (removed 3 times) and some bowel troubles this last year. He does neb and percussion since diagnosed at 6mos. I guess I've always been scared that things will get worse as he gets older - but I didn't want to think about it and I just enjoy his cool personality and humor!! Am I totally unrealistic to think that maybe he won't have alot of problems? How old are your 2 sons? What is cepacia? I don't think I've ever heard of that.
