I'd say once the heavy bleeding stops and if they are comfortable. I had a C-section so I can't relate on how sore you are in that area after delivery, but I don't see how/why there would be a restriction on time.... Hows the little one?

Did you have an episiotomy or laceration? I think that would be the deciding factor. I think if you had either of those, it would probably be safe to wait until 6 weeks postpartum. I can't remember how long it takes for the stitches to dissolve/fall out, but you don't want anything rubbing against the area until it's completely healed. I think the "6-week" rule is usually pretty safe for most things postpartum.

yes i did tear. they considered it a second degree tear, i have no idea what exactly it meant, but i know it hurt like a bia for an entire week. but now i'm good i can do everything i did before i had aj. my stitches dissolved about two weeks afterwards. i do have an ob appt on the first, i guess i could wait and ask till then. thanks though guys! aj is doing good though julie! he's eating well and being able to keep it down. which makes us so excited! and he's beginning to be a little piggy. he's up to eating about 3 1/2 oz, sometimes a little more. and we are just thrilled with that! and we can tell he's putting on some weight! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
