Mic Key Question

My granddaughters GI dr. said that she needs to have more fat under her skin in order for her to get the mic key. She currently has just the peg in place. Do you know if there is a certain weight she has to be or is it just the layer of fat to hold it??? I was alittle confused when she was explaining this and thought that i understood. But I guess i really didn't understand.

I would say enough of a layer of fat to hold the button in place. They come in different stoma lengths which refers to the tube going from the balloon on the inside to the button part on the outside. If you are a larger adult person then your would need a longer stoma length to go from the outside of your body to the inside of your stomach, a kid would need less length.
