Also I was looking at the different ones and the AMT mini looks awesome, I want it lol. Anyone have info?

</end quote></div>

My kids have had the Bard, the mickey and the AMT (recommended by Tom) and YES the AMT is by far the best. Our hospital didn't carry it, so we got the mickey and ordered the AMT later. Replacing it is really easy. I watched it on youtube and did it with no problem!

ABout the leaking, Josh's Bard leaked from the start (5 years) before we replaced it. Jesse's has never leaked. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> Josh always kept a bandage over it just in case.

I know you asked for an adult, but if I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Keep asking questions!

I HATE my feeding tube! It leaks acid, so the skin around it is always burned! I don't use the tube because I can't tolerate the formula, so I'm still severly malnourished. The only good thing I can say about having a feeding tube is I can flush horrid tasting medicines through it! I've had both the MicKey & the Bard. Both leaked. The MicKey balloon kept popping within a day of replacement, so I have the Bard.

Im with soderick- Got mine a year ago, well actually a peg a year ago, a few months after they pulled out the peg, and yes that hurt, and stuck in the Mic-key. It will have some mucas like stuff come out from around it for a few weeks, but will go away with time.

Honestly I dont like having one but what I do love is that im full in the morning so I dont have to eat breakfast. One problem I have found though is that your tubing may come apart in the middle of the night so you wake up in your dinner.

Two bad storys for ya, When im in the hospital they have differnt pumps than what I have at home so it would start beeping early in the morning to say the feeding was done. Well I did like I do everymoring and just shut the pump off but left myself hooked up to it. Well the extension piece came off and all that formula that was in my stomach came back out and I woke up in this really sticky mucas forumla puke like stuff. I just got striat into the shower after that.

Second bad story is my Mic-key was sticking out from my body and I had been telling everybody somthings wrong with it. I told my aunt who is an RN about it and she said it could be "normal" but I knew it was not normal becuase I had it for 8 months and had never done this before. So she told me if I was so worried about it to come up and see the Dr working in the E.R. so I went up there, he told me to lay down, he yanked on it and said its good go home. SO I went home. 3 days later I am way out in the counrty driving around with my friend and I feel the Mic-key fall out. We drive to the hosptial and showed my aunt what happend and she starts freaking out and says we have to get some thing in there before the hole closes. So we put a Foley catheter which is like 20 inches long. We taped it to me so it would not go anywhere. I called all over the next day trying to find a replacment tube, both places I found are five hours from me and they said it would be 3 our so days till it would get here by mail. So I get a new gtube and are at home with my aunt and we go to take the catheter out, and no fluid comes out from the balloon on the end. We clip the line just incase the end is clogged and caint get the saline out, still nothing. So I had to resort to puling the catheter out which my stomach had eaten, I am not sure where in my stomach it was at but was past my regular stomach, maybe my upper intestine? All I now is that was one of the worst pains in my life. Turns out the stomach acid ate through the balloon on the catheter so it was able to try and pass.

Other than that its great. Dont let my story turn you away from it and dont go on other peoples opinion becuase G-tubes work great in some people and others they are nothing but troube.

Hope this helped a little, if you have anymore questions just ask.

Thank you guys for the responses, keep em coming. I am noticing that people with lots of stomach acid issues seem to have more problems. So hopefully I'll get lucky there. I don't have to take anacids or anything and if I do get heartburn some tums do the trick.

Can you tape the tube at night so that it won't come out???
