Minnesota CF Education Day

Hi all! I was just curious if anyone else is going to the CF Education day in Minneapolis next Saturday (November 5). I went every year while I lived there and even though I now live in TX I am going to fly up next weekend for the Conference. Just wondered if any of you would be there.

Renee,
I live in Texas as well (Houston). I had planned on taking my kids to see Dr. Warwick this Friday, then stay for the conference. But I canceled the trip last week. We had a few things that came up that made it hard to go. Let me know how the conference goes. I definitely plan on going next year.

Sorry you can't make it, Sharon. I'll definately let you know how it goes. The conference was always one of my favorite days of the year. We look forward to it like a holiday. It's always a lot of information, but just meeting everyone and chatting with the drs and stuff on a less formal basis is wonderful. I learn so much every year. They always put together a book with all the info from each of the different talks they have and you can get one even if you don't go, incase you're interested. They charge a $5.00 fee to mail it. I'm working with the CF Center we're at now (Christus Santa Rosa in San Antonio) to start having the CF Education Days down here. I gathered all the books I had from previous years from MPLS and from Knoxville and took to clinic with us a couple of weeks ago. They are hoping to start having them here soon. I hope it works out.

I'm in Iowa, but might be able to go up... can you post more information or a link to registration information?

If you guys go, maybe we could sit together during lunch and chat. They have a very nice lunch and after the conference they have a nice reception with wine and or hor' derves.

Maybe we can pick a place to meet on the way to lunch. Maybe downstairs by the hotel registration desk... or if you can think of a better idea...somewhere people aren't going to be hanging out a lot cuz then it'll be too crowded to find each other. Think about it and if you can think of a better place, let me know... We'll also be wearing name tags... And of course my name is Renee P. And I'll have a friend with me named Amanda.

I will also be there with my boyfriend - this is my first time going, and we are both excited about going. I'm terrible about spotting people in a crowd, but I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks for the information Renee. We'll have to skip this year... too many family obligations ot make the drive. But we'll hope to see you next year.

For you CFer's going, just make sure you don't cross contaminate each other. Did they give guidelines on how long you should be free of certain "bad bugs" if you wish to attend. I know you are adults and can make your own choice on this (and use better hygeine, ie handwashing), but just be careful!

So, if we are to meet up - we should coordinate.

Anyone feeling like herding this group of cats?

Yeah, I got the literature and the whole thing just made me edgy. Don't really care to introduce my child to all those germs. Especially if people are coming from all over the country.

Looks like I'm going to herd cats.

I'm about 5'8 with curly (ringlets) brownish hair. Jeremy has long hair (shoulder length).

We'll be all cute and togethery - should make us easier to spot.

I am 5'2 with short brown hair, Bill is short also with short brown hair. I have a small rose pin that I will try to remember to wear near my nametag (if we get nametags). oh! I have a bag that is lime green with flowers on it (kinda 70's retro) that I will bring - that thing stands out pretty well. It is the one bag that Bill REFUSES to hold for me in public <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
