Mucinex and CM

Hi all,

I have been going through fertility testing and have discovered that my CM is a problem. My fertility doc told me to take Mucinex 600mg 2x a day. I was wondering if this has helped anyone else conceive. Obviously, IUI would also be an option, but my insurance doesn't cover that.

I'd love to hear other success stories (if there are any)!

Mary,

I took Mucinex when ttc as well. I would take it just as your doc has ordered it, but I would only take it from the time I was 4-5 days into my cycle until I ovulated, because it's so expensive. I ended up getting pregnant (finally!) after about a year and a month of ttc. I was taking the mucinex faithfully for probably the last 4 months of this. I seemed to notice a slight difference when on the mucinex, but whether it was the mucinex or just luck, who knows. Good luck!

Marisa 23 w/CF, 30 weeks pregnant with a precious baby girl!

I took mucinex as well. And like Marisa said, you only need it for part of your cycle otherwise you are just wasting it. Good luck!

Thanks, ladies. We've been trying for about 8 mos. I ovulate early in my cycle, so I'm going to stick with what my fertility dr told me about taking Mucinex. Also, I found it cheapish on Amazon.com
