My Dog Indy

I know that this is off topic, but I had to put my dog Indy down on Saturday. He was 18 1/2 years old and I have had him the whole time. I have not children, so he is my baby. My other pup is 16 1/2 (Peanut) and she cannot figure out where he is. She walks from room to room looking for him. I feel like I have lost a part of my heart.

I'n sorry about your dog, it's ok to let us know here. Lots of people don't read off-topic. Wish it wasn't segregated, but then it would be hard to wade thru the different threads. This is something near and dear to you heart. Sorry.

oh, i'm so sorry. I just had to put my mini doxie to sleep last week. the last dog i had died when i was in the 8th grade and i had her for 8 years, so weener was the only dog i've had since she died, so i'm still pretty broken hearted about that. i really am sorry for your lost though.

I know that is the worst feeling and such a love loss! I'm so sorry.
My last dog I had to put down when she was 11 years old and it is a terrible feeling. She was my best friend for 11 years, but all I could try to hold on to was that I helped stop the pain she in. I helped her, b/c she could not have gone the way she was. Now her memories will live on and never go away. Just remember you now have all the wonderful memories and funny stories of Indy to keep her spirit alive. <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how hard it is to have to end a cherished animals suffering. It hurts like they are our children, mainly because they are, to those of of us who dont have kids. I have had to put several of my lizards down ( Large lizards not small ones) that spent many years with and it is so heartbreaking . An animal, no matter how large or small is part of the family and when one of the family is gone, it hurts . I'm so sorry for your loss <img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">
