Hi all.
Well I am 7 weeks today and had my first prenatal appointment with my OB. Everything looked great and he did an internal ultrasound so we got to see a live baby with a heartbeat. I was confident we'd see the baby but it was so reassuring considering my recent miscarriage when we never got to see a baby. If I get a chance later I'll scan the ultrasound picture he gave me.
I go back in 4 weeks. He's also referring me to the perinatologist and I'll discuss w/ her whether she thinks I should see her for growth ultrasounds or if I can just stay w/ my OB. My CF docs want me seen by the peri but we'll see. I just don't know if I feel it is totally necessary.
My nausea hasn't been too bad so far but it is definately there. I'm tired but less tired than w/ Logan as well. Lots of foods that I typically love sound totally unappetizing (pasta). But I am usually able to get past the unappealing nature of food to eat a decent meal so my weight is stable at 130 lbs (I'm 5'5). I'm still nursing Logan so I'm sure I'll need to ramp up my caloric intake in a little bit since I'll be eating for 3. But for now the baby isn't taking any nutrients from me so I'm good.
Oh another neat thing is that my OB now has a 3d ultrasound machine in his office. You can pay to get a "fun" ultrasound (i wouldn't do that) but he did say that they can do the 20 week ultrasound w/ it if the insurance will pay for it. Since I have a PPO I'm hoping that they will. I have an issue with for profit ultrasound facilities that only do the "fun" ultrasounds (too long to go into now) but I don't have a problem with doing it in my docs office for a routine ultrasound if I can see the baby in 3d.
Gotta go play with Logan.
